Road Trip to Tassie 2022

During my road trip to Tasmania in 2022, I was able to visit and explore some amazing and stunning locations. I traveled down the east coast, stopping at places like Coffs Harbour and Mt Kosciuszko. My favorite spots included the Cathedral Rocks in Kiama, the vibrant Bay of Fires, the peaceful Lake St Clair, and the majestic Cradle Mountain. These diverse and breathtaking locations were excellent spots for my landscape photography, allowing me to capture the beauty of nature.

Timelapse Video

One of the most enjoyable aspects of my travels is the opportunity to capture stunning timelapses. There's something magical about recording clouds rolling over mountains, stars drifting across the sky, and the flow of waterfalls. I love compiling these individual timelapses into a cohesive video that showcases the highlights of my trip. It's a time-consuming endeavor, but the end result is well worth it

Cathedral Rocks

One of my first stops was the Cathedral Rocks along the NSW coastline near Kiama. I had discovered this location online and was eager to capture it during sunrise. I woke up early, trekked across the beach, and finally arrived at the rocks - a stunning couple of rock formations rising up from the water. However, setting up a perfect timelapse location proved to be challenging, and I encountered a few unexpected complications. Instead, I roamed around the area with my camera and experimented with different angles. Which the result turned out to be amazing, despite not aligning with my original plan.

Mount Kosciuszko

Mount Kosciuszko was my next destination, and I was excited to explore this stunning location for a few days. Although the weather wasn't ideal with strong winds and thick fog, I was determined to make the most of my time. However the misty condition allowed me to get some really cool shots. The next day I spent some time exploring some more of the local area, and was able to capture some cool shots of a rainbow and some areas with a bit of snow.

Bay of Fires

The Bay of Fire was a truly remarkable destination, with its vivid orange rocks set against the stunning blue waters creating a striking contrast. Exploring this natural wonder was a delight, as I hopped around over the rocks in search of unique locations for capturing beautiful photos. However, my favorite spot by far was a hidden-away beach, tucked away from the crowds, that boasted an array of fascinating rocks and gentle rolling waves. The tranquility of this secluded spot and the captivating beauty of the scenery made it the perfect location for capturing some truly stunning shots.

Cradle Mountain

I had the pleasure of revisiting the stunning Cradle Mountain for a few days, and once again, it did not disappoint. Though I had already explored this magnificent destination on a previous trip, I was thrilled to discover new spots and angles for my photography. Despite the weather being predominantly overcast throughout my stay, the final day blessed me with a clear, brilliant blue sky, prompting me to venture back into the national park to capture a few more shots. Interestingly, the first three images above perfectly showcase the stark contrast between the varying weather conditions during my visit. Moreover, I was able to capture a glimpse of the breathtaking Aurora Australis with my camera, as seen in my timelapse video!

Tasmania

During my week-long trip around Tasmania, I had the chance to explore a plethora of breathtaking locations and scenic spots scattered around. From stunning sunsets and sunrises to enchanting waterfalls and foggy landscapes, I captured a wide range of great photos throughout the journey. Each day brought a new adventure, and I enjoyed in the opportunity to explore this beautiful island and all it had to offer.

The Wildlife

During my travels, I always keep an eye out for opportunities to capture pictures of the wildlife I come across. I have the most fun trying to get pictures of birds, because they move around so much it makes them an interesting challenge.
