Exploring Norway
My first stop on my trip was Norway, where I traveled alongside a small group of friends through the captivating west coast. Our days were filled with visiting historic Viking sites, breathtaking hikes amidst majestic fjords, exploring old bunkers and cruising through awe-inspiring landscapes. It was a beautiful country and there was hardly enough time to explore it all, so I definitely intend to revisit in the future.
Fjord - Kjerag
Nestled in the heart of Norway, Kjerag stands as a majestic natural marvel, perched 1,084 meters above the iconic Lysefjord. The renowned Kjeragbolten hike beckons adventurous souls to navigate challenging trails, leading to a dramatic plateau offering panoramic views of the rugged landscape. The highlight of the trek is the daring opportunity to stand upon the suspended Kjeragbolten, a massive boulder wedged between towering cliffs.
Stave Churches
Norway's stave churches are remarkable medieval structures characterized by their unique wooden construction. Built during the Middle Ages, these churches feature a distinctive architectural style with wooden posts or staves supporting the buildings. They are known for their blend of Christian and Norse design elements, often adorned with intricate carvings and steep roofs. These churches stand as cultural and historical treasures, offering a glimpse into Norway's rich heritage.
